Loctite 272 is a high strength threadlocker (High Strength Threadlocker – Red), featuring a high temperature resistance of up to 230 °C, used for threaded joints that need to be permanently fixed in environments with vibration and extreme temperatures. 🔎 Basic information

📝 Instructions for use

Surface preparation

Clean the threads with solvent (Loctite 7063, 7070 or acetone).

Make sure the surface is dry and free of grease.

How to use

Shake the bottle well before use.

Drop the glue onto the male thread (bolt) or female thread (threaded hole).

Tighten to the required torque.

Curing time

10 – 20 minutes: the glue begins to dry on the surface (fix the part).

1 – 3 hours: reaches working strength.

24 hours: completely cured.

🔧 Remove when needed

Due to the locking force and very high heat resistance → very difficult to remove.

How to remove:

Heat the threaded area to about 250 °C.

Use a mechanical tool to remove the bolt.

✅ Advantages

Extremely strong thread lock, almost permanent.

Withstands temperatures much higher than other red Loctite types (262, 263, 271 only up to ~150 °C).

Resistant to vibration, heavy loads and rust.
