Loctite 4210 glue is an instant glue (cyanoacrylate) with more special properties than the common 401, 406 or 495 glue. I will summarize it for you to easily visualize:
🔎 Main features
Ingredients: Cyanoacrylate reinforced with elastomer (rubber toughened).
Color: Black.
Viscosity: Medium to high, not as thin as 401 glue.
Outstanding features:
Heat resistance is better than regular cyanoacrylate glue (up to ~120 °C).
Withstands impact, vibration and peeling well.
Relatively stable resistance to oil, solvents, and moisture.
Typical applications:
Gluing metal, plastic, and rubber in parts requiring high mechanical strength.
Automotive industry, electronics, speakers, oil filters, mechanical equipment.
Places that need to withstand long-term loads or harsher environments than 401 glue.
🛠 Basic instructions for use
Surface preparation
Clean grease, dirt, rust with acetone or IPA.
Ensure the surface is dry, flat, and has good contact.
Apply glue
Just a thin layer (Loctite 4210 glue spreads when pressed, do not apply too much).
Drop on 1 surface, then press the 2 surfaces together.
Press and hold
Hold for a few seconds – a few tens of seconds for the glue to initially stick.
Do not move the part while the glue is curing.
Completely cured
Depending on the material and gap, it takes several hours to 24 hours to achieve maximum strength.
If the gap is large, you can use Loctite Activator to speed up the curing process.
⚠️ Safety notes
Avoid contact with skin and eyes. If contact with skin: soak in warm soapy water, do not try to peel off forcefully.
If contact with eyes: rinse immediately with clean water for several minutes and seek medical attention.
Work in a well-ventilated area, avoid inhaling glue fumes.
Storage: Keep glue bottle tightly closed, store in a cool, dry place (preferably below 8°C in the refrigerator, but avoid freezing).
