LOCTITE SI 5910 Low Strength

Loctite 5910 (full name: Loctite SI 5910 – Silicone Gasket Maker, Black) is a one-component, room temperature (RTV) silicone sealant, used to create elastic gaskets, seals, and prevent leaks in mechanics and automobiles.

🔹 Main information

Form: RTV silicone sealant (1-part).

Color: Black.

Outstanding features:

Non-corrosive (sensor-safe, does not emit strong acetic acid odor).

Elastic, flexible, resistant to vibration and joint deformation.

Suitable for flexible flanges and rough surfaces.

Working temperature: from -55 °C to +200 °C (short-term up to 250 °C).

Curing: thanks to air moisture.

🔹 Application

Create replacement gaskets (gasket maker) on:

Cover covers: valve covers, camshaft covers, gearbox covers.

Flanges of soft metal or aluminum, where oil/water tightness is required.

Engine systems, pumps, gearboxes, mechanical equipment.

Especially suitable for surfaces that are easily deformed and not completely flat.

🔹 Instructions for use

Surface preparation

Clean grease, dirt, old glue.

Make sure the surface is dry and smooth.

Application

Cut the nozzle to the desired diameter (2–5 mm).

Inject glue in a continuous line around the edge of the surface to be sealed.

Surround the bolt holes to prevent leakage.

Assembly

Assemble the flanges immediately after injecting glue.

Tighten the bolts to the correct technical force.

Curing

The adhesive begins to form a film in 10–20 minutes.

Fully cured in 24 hours (depending on the thickness of the adhesive layer).

🔹 Advantages

Good oil resistance, especially in engines and gearboxes.

High elasticity, vibration resistance, no cracking.

Safe with sensors (O₂ sensor-safe).

Replaces traditional cutting gaskets, saving costs and time.

🔹 Disadvantages

Not as heat resistant as Loctite 596 (red) or 598 (black high-temp).

Full drying time requires a full 24 hours to achieve the best seal.
