Loctite 595 (full name: Loctite SI 595 – Clear Silicone Adhesive Sealant) is a transparent, one-component, room temperature (RTV) silicone adhesive, used for multi-purpose bonding and sealing.
🔹 Main information
Form: RTV silicone adhesive, one-component (1-part).
Color: Transparent (clear).
Curing mechanism: self-vulcanization by moisture in the air.
Working temperature: from about -60 °C to +200 °C.
Characteristics:
High elasticity, flexibility, no cracking.
Moisture-proof, anti-vibration, anti-UV.
Good insulation (often used in electricity – electronics).
🔹 Application
Multi-purpose sealing & gluing: glass, metal, wood, ceramic, rubber, plastic.
Electrical – electronic industry: protective coating, insulation, moisture-proof, dust-proof.
Household: glass, mirrors, aluminum doors, cabinets, small fish tanks (not used for large high-pressure fish tanks).
Automobile – mechanical: sealing lights, rubber gaskets, waterproofing.
🔹 Instructions for use
Surface preparation
Clean dust, oil, grease, impurities.
Ensure dry.
Construction
Cut the tip of the tube, install the pump nozzle.
Inject a continuous line of glue into the area to be glued or sealed.
Curing
The glue begins to form a film after about 10-20 minutes.
Completely cured after 24 hours (depending on thickness and environmental conditions).
🔹 Advantages
Transparent → aesthetic, suitable for glass gluing.
Moisture-proof and good insulation.
Multi-purpose, can be used for many different materials.
🔹 Disadvantages
Acetoxy type → has a slight acid smell when first pumped.
Not as heat resistant as Loctite 596/598 (only ~200 °C).
Not recommended for surfaces that are constantly immersed in water or exposed to gasoline/oil.
